Finally uncle Sam banned the online gamming
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 was finally passed into a law by a US senate majority in a suprising manner. The bill was paper clipped to the safe port act and it was passed through the senate rather quickly, while similar proposal had been awaiting for nearly 10 years and never approved by the senate.
How unusual! well, I guess it is not that unusual these days when the evolution is about to be struk out of the high school text books. It is easy to connect the dots, the whole thing smells like the religeous right wing Don't get me wrong, I am not personally for or against the online gamming, but I think this is just a band-aid in saving irresponsible citizens from their own harm, which is impossible. The ones that gamble themselves to death will find another way of killing themselves. I think the US legislators (like any other government) finds it easier to ban the whole industry rather than regulating it. Regulation is hard and requires effort and energy, while banning is easy. Although I think this ban is going to end with a similar faith as the ban of alcohol in North America.
